The new moon is at 19 deg Capricorn exact on Jan 9 at 5:30 pm PST. This begins a new lunar cycle for the next 28 days. The new moon is in positive alignment with Jupiter Rx and the North Node in Virgo which means this new cycle will have big impacts on your future. This is all earth energy asking for seeds of intentions to be planted in this cycle that will effect your entire year of 2016 and beyond.

This new moon is best used for long term planning for those personal achievement needs this year. Things you desire and want; how you see yourself out in the world; what you want to do for work and money; how you want the world to perceive you; how you plan on getting everything you desire and need; your personal health concerns, and anything else that you have been wanting to do in a very grounded practical way.
This is the time to make connections and get things rolling in that direction. However Capricorn works at a slow pace and so your patience and hard work will be required for future success.


The thing about this new moon is that Mercury is in retrograde through Capricorn and Jupiter has also just changed directions into retrograde through Virgo. This means there is some level of uncertainty and any plans laid down will require some adjustments this next few weeks until more information comes in after Mercury has finished its retrograde cycle. Jupiter moving backwards can suggest that all these plans being made are perhaps on an inner level to some degree and won't fully materialize until after Jupiter moves forward and reaches this point again at 23 Virgo this summer. So again, patience and hard work is always required with Capricorn and Saturn energy. So make practical plans for the long term but don't expect these seeds of intention to fully flower for several months. It's about doing the small things, taking one small step at a time this next few months in order to get where you want be.

Saturn rules Capricorn which has a Venus conjunction at time of this new moon. This suggest that all things Venus are also needing these long term plans - relationships, desires, values, resources, etc all are needing some practical long term planning and commitment in order to materialize. The things you want right now may have to wait awhile before truly coming into your reality. But if you slow down, do it right, look far into the future, make solid plans,build solid foundations and have lots of patience with hardwork this year these things you personally desire can be achieved, but they won't be showing up right away, you have to wait for them! Regardless, these next few weeks will have a very significant effect on getting you these things for the long term because of the North Node in the mix. This past week has triggered some intense changes deep within, and this new moon is the last stage of that, planting the seeds for real long term changes in your life but i really feel like these changes won't be fully visible in outer life until at least this summer when we have a Capricorn Full Moon in 6 months. It's all about practical long term planning and patience with this moon!

As Mercury moves retrograde it's best to go back and take care of anything from the past that is lingering, getting in the way of achieving your desires for the future. More information will come in and some adjustments will be required so staying open to changes of plans is necessary for success. Mercury stations Retrograde Jan 5 2016

Mercury is the planet of communication, perceptions and everyday mental activity. It's currently been slowing down and in hard alignment with Mars causing communication with others to have some tension under the surface along with some turbulent thoughts and ideas about future plans reflecting some mental frustrations for a lot of people. Mercury is at the last degree of Capricorn, the business and achievement sign so figuring out future plans is challenging right now because we don't have all the info and answers yet, although we want to. Don't expect resolution for a while. That's because Mercury is preparing to station retrograde for three weeks starting on Jan 5 2016 while remaining in square aspect to Mars until then. Mercury will slip into 0 degree Aquarius changing mental perceptions for a few days starting on Fri night before returning to Capricorn on Jan 8 where it will move back all the way to Pluto in mid Cap where it will station direct on Jan 24, moving forward again until reentering Aquarius on Feb 13. So the mind and perception energy is about to go back and rethink everything that's been on the mind along with conversations since around Dec 19 2015. There is a lot of uncertainty now. The retrograde phase for the next several weeks will work all these details out and by the time it's over, we will have the info we need to make solid future plans.

Now please, don't mind the retrograde hype. Retrograde phases are not bad despite what you hear. They have a very good purpose and some Mercury retrogrades are more likely to bring mishaps in certain signs than others. Cap not being one of them. Plus the mishaps and miscommunication is only likely when Mercury is in station (stopped). Once the motion starts up and realigns things smooth out. You just have to pay more attention to what you are doing. It's not that big of a deal. Mercury retrograde in Capricorn wants to figure out some business stuff along with long term achievement plans. Find the house in your chart that has Capricorn, that's where you are needing to rethink some things, wait for more info, get caught up on past projects and then finally figure out your responsibilities and obligations for 2016 after this phase is complete.

Life expansion slows down now as Jupiter is also moving into station retrograde. We need to deal with some things on the inside before outer life expansion can move forward again in new ways. Also Mars is about to change signs into Scorpio, energizing that area of your life. Say good bye to the Libra diplomatic negotiations. This will give a lot of will and determination for important action in Scorpio area of life but it's more below the surface than anything until all these retro phases are complete. Mars will have extended stay in Scorpio as it does a retrograde phase in this sign for the first few months of 2016 so action will eventually turn back and take care of matters from the past before truly moving forward.

Jan 1 (fri night)the waning moon in Libra makes 3rd quarter square with the sun in Capricorn at 11 degrees. Emotional obstacles and challenges might show up between you, business and others. Tension between being diplomatic with others or straight forward, getting to the point no matter how nice the point is. It's not a time to push thru. it's better to reflect, accept and release as the moon continues to release energy until the next new moon.

It's best not to start anything new or make solid plans until this Mercury retrograde is complete in Mid February. Like i said, it's better to take care of old stuff and obligations from past during this time and wait for new information for future plans. If you try and start something new be prepared to make adjustments the next several weeks - nothing is certain yet.

Venus is now in Sagittarius uplifting desires, wanting more than what's right here and now but will have to face current obligations and commitments this next weeks or so before having permission to get these new desires. Love and desires wants some adventure. The sun conjoins Pluto this weekend highlighting intense stuff, undercurrents and some kind of transformation. In fact, because Mercury will move all the way back to this point with Pluto, this Mercury retrograde phase will have huge impacts on changing future plans, with major mental transformation taking place. It's best to stay open so you can adapt and make adjustments when needed. As Mercury moves into Aquarius next few days, we get a radical mental shift looking at alternative possibilities but then have to go back into reality and take care of past before we can actually start implementing the radical shifts in ideas. Let the next few days show you what wants to be possible. Then go back and fix the past in order to make that future possible.

Friday morning 7:14 am PST the waxing moon in Pisces enters 1st quarter square with the sun. This is a power aspect, more so than normal because this 1st quarter square is perfectly aligned with the nodes of fate while the sun perfectly squares this karmic axis. Emotional challenges & obstacles show up regarding new intentions that were set back around the new moon a week ago. This is the universe making sure you really want to move forward with what you have in mind. Circumstances, feelings & decisions next couple days will have long term effect on your life. Venus will be in Scorpio all month. This changes personal relationships to an entirely different situation. Passionate desires take over giving people much more determination to get what they want which will be to merge deeper with the other taking connections to the next level. This creates inner conflict as the sun in Sag is highlighting personal freedom. It might be a challenge to keep independence while passion for deeper connection builds. How can we remain free while merging deeper with others simultaneously?

At same time moon enters Libra joining Mars activating an extremely volatile energy that makes losing our cool easy with possible outburst of emotions saying or doing something we could regret later. Power & control issues with others could arise. Unexpected reactions from people objecting to our desires or activity is very possible and even our own reactions can take us and others off guard.

As the sun is trine to Uranus there is an easy outlet to express ourselves in ways that we normally wouldn't feel comfortable doing. I can't understate the possible disruptive energy this weekend into next week as Mars is in hard alignment with Pluto and Uranus that in past has correlated with unexpected violence or emotional outbursts of anger. This aspect has already been in place and is building. Mars is also the gun while Pluto in Capricorn is the establishment and Uranus is unexpected activity so the gun debate in the USA is going to intensify now with possible sudden changes to policy causing a big disruption.
